Is Your Site Mobile Friendly?

April 21, 2105 will go down as one of the most important days in the history of mobile friendly sites.  Prior to that date, it was “nice” to have a responsive, mobile friendly site.  People would view a website on their phone and if it did not require that annoying “pinch and zoom”, it was easier to browse.  It turns out that people stayed on that site for longer periods of time (when compared to a non mobile friendly site) and they provided contact information at the site more frequently.  Oh, so “nice”.

Well, it is not about being “nice” any longer.  Google (who really cares about any other search provider anyway?  Haha.) has decided that there should be a simple check” Either site is Mobile Friendly or Not.  For those that are mobile friendly, good for them.  No additional “bravos” or hooray, just “status quo”.  For those sites that fail the test, well…get with it.  It is 2015.  Out with the old, in with the not so old.

Many businesses use website platforms that simply are not mobile friendly.  The same site is shown on mobile as it is on a desktop, regardless of the fact that the screen is about 5% the size.  Many businesses had a site designed that was current at the time that simply has not been updated in years.

As of April 21, 2015, you MUST do something about this.  You will lose revenue that could be coming into your business if you are not mobile friendly (as defined by Google).

Here is another great tool to see what your site looks like on various sizes of screens:

Responsive Website Testing Tool

If your site fails the Google mobile test, send us a message.  We might be able to help you to resolve this in a simple way that does not cost you a lot of money.  The money spent on “fixing” this (yes, it is broken if you fail the test) should yield a significant return on investment – what is the value of a single lead that comes to you through a search engine?

If your site just does not make you proud, send us a message.  You know what I mean.  You can have a world class, industry leading, cutting edge, etc, etc, etc website and can brag to your competition (and more importantly, you can spread the word to current and potential customers and clients)!

We would love to learn more about your company site and your vision for doing business going forward.
